Beginner Vocal Instruction

Beginner vocal lessons are perfect for those who are starting vocal lessons for the first time. Musical elements that will be learned alongside student-specific repertoire are as follows:

  • Basics of healthy, age appropriate vocal production
  • Basic breathing
  • Musical alphabet
  • Movable-Do Solfege
  • Music Theory
  • Begin learning how to read and sing from basic sheet music
  • Sight-reading

Intermediate Vocal Instruction

Intermediate vocal lessons are for those who have had past vocal training and have a strong knowledge of basic vocal production. Musical elements that will be learned alongside student-specific repertoire are as follows:

  • Healthy, age appropriate vocal production
  • Deeper knowledge of breathing
  • Movable-Do Solfege
  • Music theory
  • Sight-reading
  • Ear-training
  • Vocal anatomy and vocal health best-practices. 
  • Basics of how to practice a piece in preparation for the next lesson 
  • Basics on how to research music for a more musical presentation at their recitals 
  • Classical students will be required to sing in at least one additional language to English

Advanced Vocal Instruction

Advanced vocal lessons are for those who have a strong knowledge of vocal production and who are able to study newly assigned music effectively on their own. Musical elements that will be learned alongside student-specific repertoire are as follows:

  • Healthy, age appropriate tone while navigating hormonal changes that affect the voice
  • Advanced breathing techniques 
  • Moveable-Do Solfege
  • Music theory
  • Sight-reading
  • Ear training
  • Expanded vocal anatomy and vocal health best-practices 
  • Advanced musicality techniques
  • Research music
  • Basic knowledge of IPA
  • Classical students continue singing in at least one additional language.

Professional Coaching

Professional Coaching is for professional singers, professional speakers, pastors, and presenters who wish to strengthen their voices and rebuild healthy vocal habits. Coaching sessions are scheduled in four weekly lesson package. The professional vocalist can schedule additional four weekly lesson packages until they have reached consistent healthy vocal production with which they are happy. After their weekly lessons have come to an end, these vocal professionals are welcome to contact Motif Music Studio for any additional lessons as they see a need.
